Every year in Brighouse, on November 5, we come together to celebrate Bonfire Night, all over the county of West Yorkshire we gather around the bonfire.

• The bonfires are used to cook all kinds of food and are not meant to be a symbol of the failed complot. People heat up soup for the people coming by to watch the fireworks. There are some people who cook potatoes wrapped in a foil and also marshmallows or sausages. There is a traditional cake called the parking cake that is eaten on Bonfire Night. There is a cake with syrup, ginger, oatmeal, and treacle.
