Every year in Carshalton, on November 5, we come together to celebrate Bonfire Night, all over the county of Greater London we gather around the bonfire.

The Parliament decided to light up bonfires on the 5th of November in order to be thankful.

We eventually headed to the Bonfire Night.

Over the years, Bonfire Night has become a community focused event despite the fact that it is sinister in nature.

The celebration was renamed at the beginning of the 20th century by firework manufacturers because of its focus on having fun.

The event of the 20th century looked similar to what we are seeing today.

The jacket potato, parkin, black peas and treacle toffee are some of the things associated with the Bonfire Night.

A lot of people heat up soup for the crowds that come by to see the fireworks. It is possible to cook potatoes wrapped in a foil with marshmallows or sausages. The parking cake is a traditional cake people eat on the Bonfire Night. There is syrup, ginger, oatmeal and treacle in this cake.
• There are firework displays all over the country, with the biggest cities getting some of the largest displays. Even in rural areas, you are bound to find incredible firework displays.
• Many people in the UK burn an effigy, a homemade model of a man, very similar to a scarecrow. The effigy is usually made of straw or paper and stuffed with old clothes.

During Bonfire Night, people parade in costumes and use flaming torches, fireworks, and sparklers.

This is a clear nod to the failure of the band that tried to blow up the Parliament, a celebration of independence, but in a safe way.
