Every year in Dalton in Furness, on November 5, we come together to celebrate Bonfire Night, all over the county of Cumbria we gather around the bonfire.
Over the years, the Bonfire Night has become an annual event because of it's incredible festivities.
Why do people love these celebrations so much?
You can get up to speed with the reasons behind the amazing popularity of the Bonfire Night in a few minutes.
It is a way to celebrate the failure of Guy Fawkes as he tried to assassinate King James I, as well as the attempt to blow up the parliament.
In 1605 this happened, and people have celebrated the night ever since.
There was a lot of anger towards the king due to the fact that he was against the Catholics.
Robert Catesby and Guy Fawkes were Catholics who believed in an armed struggle to bring about the return of Catholicism to its rightful place.
A group of people came up with a plan to blow up the Palace of Commons.
The king was in attendance so the plan was to kill him.
A conspiracy member sent a letter to the parliament, but he was cold feet.
The other conspirators were taken into custody after learning about the plan.
The Parliament shared with the public that the conspirators were caught and punished.
The Parliament decided to make the 5th of November a day to be thankful for.
We decided to go to the Bonfire Night.
Nowadays Bonfire Night activities are enjoyed throughout the UK.
The origins of the event are sinister, but over the years it has become a community focused event.
The celebration was renamed to Fireworks Night at the beginning of the 20th century because it was focused on having fun.
In the 20th century, the event looked similar to what we are experiencing today.
The celebration with bonfires and fireworks is not the only thing happening.
There are many things associated with this event.
The jacket potato, parkin, black peas, treacle toffee, and the toffee apples are just some of the things associated with the Bonfire Night.
These are eaten throughout the country, and some regions even have their own special meals prepared around the 5th of November.
It is important to note that some families share their soups with friends and family members.
People parade in costumes and use flaming torches, fireworks, and sparklers at Bonfire Night.
This is a clear nod to the failure of the band that tried to blow up the Parliament, a celebration of independence, but in a safe way.
Most of the time, these events end with a firework display and large bonfire.
Depending on where they live, people tend to dress up in various costumes on Bonfire Night.
This approach is quite interesting, and it is in preparation for the events.
The Bonfire Night is a good time for most people to show off their winter wardrobe.
Something to keep in mind is that a winter knit with a classical touch is the right way to go here.
You don't have to dress up in a costume, but a proper outfit that protects you from the cold weather is more than welcome.
There are some great attractions and events in the UK.
Large bonfires, local events, food and drinks are shared with the community in the countryside regions.
For a lot of people, Bonfire Night has become a community-focused event, where everyone has a great time, and they enjoy the presence of other like-minded people.
You will be able to enjoy some great firework displays with some regions going out of their way to use incredible fireworks for a night to remember.
Every year, Bonfire Night has become a staple event.
It is a great time for people to come together and enjoy some great food.
It’s certainly one of those events that have impressed people over the years.
Even if the origins of this event are a bit darker, there's no denying that it's become a more community-friendly event.
The most important parts of the event are happiness and a good time, and we can expect this to continue for many years to come.
