Every year in Eastbourne, on November 5, we come together to celebrate Bonfire Night, all over the county of Durham we gather around the bonfire.

In 1605 this happened, and people have been celebrating bonfires ever since.

• The bonfires are used to cook all kinds of food, even though they are just meant to be a symbol of the failed complot. Many people heat up soup for the crowds to watch the fireworks. Some people cook potatoes in a foil with marshmallows or sausages as well. The parking cake is a traditional dessert people eat on Bonfire Night. A cake with syrup, ginger, oatmeal, and treacle is very delicious.
