Every year in Holyfield, on November 5, we come together to celebrate Bonfire Night, with fireworks lighting up the skies across the county of Essex.
Over the years, the Bonfire Night has become an annual event and is one of those incredible festivities.
Why are people so fond of these festivities?
You can get up to speed with the reasons behind the amazing popularity of the Bonfire Night by reading this short article.
The main reason why Guy Fawkes failed in his attempt to assassinate King James I is because of the Bonfire Night celebrations.
This happened in 1605 and has been celebrated ever since.
There was a lot of anger against the king due to the fact that he was seen as being against the Catholics.
Robert Catesby and Guy Fawkes were Catholics who believed in an armed struggle to bring back Catholicism to the rightful place.
A group of supporters came up with a plan to blow up the Palace.
The plan was to assassinate the king during the process.
A conspiracy member was cold feet and sent a letter to the parliament.
The other conspirators were taken into custody when they learned of the plan.
The Parliament made a statement that the conspirators were caught and punished.
The Parliament decided to make the 5th of November a day to be thankful for.
It eventually led to the Bonfire Night.
There are a lot of Bonfire Night activities in the UK nowadays.
Over the years, Bonfire Night has become a community-focused event despite its origins being sinister.
The celebration was renamed at the beginning of the 20th century because it was focused on having fun.
The event looked similar as the 20th century went on.
People wear costumes and use flaming torches, fireworks, and sparklers during Bonfire Night.
The failure of Guy Fawkes and his band as they tried to blow up the Parliament, a celebration of independence, is a clear nod to this.
Most of the time, these events end with a large bonfire and firework display.
Depending on where you live, people tend to dress up in different costumes on Bonfire Night
It is quite interesting that this is being prepared for the events.
The Bonfire Night is a good time for most people to show off their winter clothing.
Something to keep in mind is that a winter knit with a classical touch is usually the way to go here.
You don't have to dress up in a costume but a proper outfit that protects you against the cold weather is more than welcome.
The events of the Bonfire Night are more than just a celebration with bonfires and fireworks.
There are a lot of foods associated with this event.
The jacket potato, parkin, black peas and treacle toffee are all associated with the Bonfire Night.
These are eaten all over the country, and some regions have their own special meals prepared around the 5th of November as well.
It is important to note that some families share their soups with friends and other family members.
The UK has many amazing attractions and events.
In the countryside, you usually have large bonfires and local events, food and drinks being shared with the community, but there are also smaller events.
For a lot of people, Bonfire Night has become a community event where everyone has a great time and they enjoy the presence of other like minded people.
You will also get to enjoy some great firework displays with some regions going out of their way to use incredible fireworks for a night to remember.
Every year, Bonfire Night continues to be a staple event.
It is a great time for people to celebrate and eat amazing foods.
Over the years it has impressed many people.
Even if the origins of this event are a bit darker, there is no denying that it has evolved into a more community-friendly event.
