Every year in Stamford Hill, on November 5, we come together to celebrate Bonfire Night, all over the county of Greater London we gather around the bonfire.
The Bonfire Night has been adopted as an annual event over the years.
Why do people love these celebrations?
You can get up to speed with the reasons behind the amazing popularity of the Bonfire Night in a few minutes.
The main reason why Guy Fawkes tried to assassinate King James I is that it is a way to celebrate the failure of the event.
The Bonfire Night was celebrated in 1605 and has been ever since.
There was a lot of anger against the king at that time, since he was seen as being against the Catholics.
Robert Catesby and Guy Fawkes were Catholics who believed that only an armed struggle would restore Catholicism to its rightful place.
The supporters came up with a plan to blow up the Palace.
The plan was to assassinate the king because he was in attendance.
The conspiracy member sent a letter to the parliament after getting cold feet.
The other conspirators were taken into custody when they learned of the plan.
The Parliament shared that the conspirators were caught and punished, in a public statement.
The Parliament decided to make the 5th of November a day to be thankful for and therefore the tradition to light up bonfires.
Which eventually led to the Bonfire Night.
Nowadays there are Bonfire Night activities in the UK.
Over the years it has become a community focused event despite the fact that its origins are sinister.
The celebration was renamed at the beginning of the 20th century by firework manufacturers to Bonfire Night or the Fireworks Night because of the focus on having fun.
The 20th century event looked similar to what we are seeing today.
There are some amazing attractions and events in the UK.
In the countryside, there are usually large bonfires and local events with food and drinks shared with the community.
For a lot of people, Bonfire Night has become a community-focused event where everyone has a great time and they enjoy the presence of other like-minded people
You will also get to enjoy some great firework displays with some regions going out of their way to use incredible fireworks for a night to remember.
The Bonfire Night events are more than just a celebration with fireworks.
There are many foods associated with the event.

It is important to note that some families share their soups with friends or family members.
People use flaming torches, fireworks and sparklers at Bonfire Night.
The failure of Guy Fawkes and his band as they tried to blow up the Parliament, a celebration of independence, is a clear nod to this.
Most of the time, these events end with a large bonfire and a firework display.
