Every year in Tonyrefail, on November 5, we come together to celebrate Bonfire Night, all over the county of Rhondda Cynon Taf we gather around the bonfire.
An annual event over the years, the Bonfire Night is one of those incredible festivities and celebrations.
Why are people so fond of these festivities?
You can get up to speed with the reasons behind the amazing popularity of the Bonfire Night by following this quick rundown.
The main reason why Guy Fawkes failed in his attempt to assassinate King James I is that he wanted to blow up the parliament.
This happened in 1605, and people have been celebrating the Bonfire Night ever since.
There was a lot of anger against the king, since he was seen as being against the Catholics.
Robert Catesby and Guy Fawkes were Catholics who believed in an armed struggle to return Catholicism to its rightful place.
Some people came up with a plan to blow up the Palace of Westminster.
The plan was to assassinate the king as he was in attendance.
A conspiracy member sent a letter to the parliament.
The other conspirators ended up being taken into custody after they learned about the plan.
The parliament shared that the conspirators were caught and punished.
The Parliament decided to make the 5th of November a day to be thankful for and therefore the tradition to light bonfires.
We decided to go to the Bonfire Night.
There are Bonfire Night activities in the UK.
Over the years, Bonfire Night has become a community focused event despite the fact that it is sinister in nature.
The firework manufacturers decided to change the celebration's name to Fireworks Night at the beginning of the 20th century because of the focus on having fun.
The event of the 20th century looked more and more like what we are seeing today.
Depending on where you live, people tend to dress up in different costumes during Bonfire Night.
This approach is quite interesting and is being prepared for the events.
The Bonfire Night is a good time for most people to show off their winter wardrobe.
Something to keep in mind is that a winter knit with a Classical touch is usually the right way to go here.
A proper outfit that protects you from the cold weather is more than welcome, even if you don't have to wear a costume.
The UK has a lot of amazing attractions and events.
Large bonfires, local events, food and drinks are shared with the community in the countryside regions where smaller events also take place.
It's become a community-focused event for a lot of people, where everyone has a great time and they enjoy the presence of other like-minded people.
You will get to enjoy some great firework displays, with some regions going out of their way to use incredible fireworks for a night to remember.
People parade in costumes and use flaming torches, fireworks and sparklers during Bonfire Night
This is obviously a clear nod to the failure of Guy Fawkes and his band as they tried to blow up the Parliament, a celebration of independence, but in a safe manner.
Most of the time, these events end with a large bonfire and a firework display.
The bonfire Night events are more than just a celebration with bonfires.
There are a lot of foods associated with the event.
The jacket potato, parkin, black peas, treacle toffee, and the toffee apples are just some of the things associated with the Bonfire Night.
These are eaten all over the country, and some regions have their own special meals prepared for the 5th of November.
Some families share soups with friends or other family members.
Every year, Bonfire Night continues to be a staple event.
It is a great time for people to connect, celebrate and eat amazing foods.
It is one of the events that have impressed people over the years.
Even if the origins of this event are a bit darker, there is no denying that the event has evolved over the years into a more community-friendly event.
We can expect this event to continue for years and years to come because of the importance of happiness and a good time.
